Funeral for Rochester hiker will be held in Maryland
Funeral arrangements are in place for Christopher Todd, 30, of Rochester, who died of heat stroke last week on a hike with family in the White Mountains in New Hampshire.
The funeral will be Friday morning at St. Louis Catholic Church in Clarksville, Md.
Donations can be directed to a fund set up at McDaniel College in Westminster, Md., in Todd’s honor, attention of Christopher Todd, Class of 2005. Donors can donate by credit card or check.
Stephanie Todd, Christopher’s widow, was on the trip to New Hampshire with her husband as an annual family tradition, she said. Christopher was a healthy individual, but the Blueberry Trail hike was strenuous.
The two lived in the 19th Ward, and Christopher Todd worked as a group leader at Bausch and Lomb. Stephanie Todd said he loved the outdoors, the Rochester Public Market and movies.
