Do you plan on staying in the 19th Ward?
St. Stephen's Episcopal Church certainly does!
Tell us about yourself:
I am the Priest-in-Charge of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. We have a long history of involvement in the 19th Ward, and hope to continue that in the coming years. We want to stay in the city!
Thanks! I'm home now for a week or so, and then off again for another week of vacation. I'm sorry I missed the SWAN tour. Where is that garden located, and who's in charge?
We meet about each 2 to 3 weeks during the summer, always at a different place. We visit each others gardens, or a community garden, or a place of interest. Just watch Locacation19 and if you are signed up for Garden Group, you will automatically receive e-mail notices of our postings.
The Thurston/Ravenwood Garden is flowers for sitting, walking, enjoying. It is dedicated to three community members who have surpassed excellence through their volunteer work. Join us on Aug. 3 at 7 PM if you can. We also can discuss community gardens for growing food, a possibility for next year. There was just a tour last weekend on urban food gardening! Sorry you missed it. If you are willing to stick around a bit afterwards, I will show you a few urban gardens right off Thurston Rd., weather permitting.
