I think they made another run today on Winbourne. One side of the street is looking good, my side, where they cars were parking, is crappy, drat.

Very sweet, caring and practical, Mark, those little actions build big community. A good reminder for us to keep reaching out...to the stranger (who is often a friend we haven't met yet). Thank you

I use Laughlin Electric. Don't have the number handy but he's probably in the book and his address is a Henrietta address. I found Jim Laughlin through the Landmark Society and he also "gets" our wiring.

Try Ellenwood Electric - I think the owner's name is Mark. He's a 'character' but has done work here and understands 'old' electricity. His prices were very reasonable. 585-654-8642

Tell us about yourself:
I am a Rochesterian by birth and spent 2/3 of my life here and love it. I have mostly lived in the city by choice, and always as a renter. I bought my first house! last fall and moved here from the southwedge in Dec. 08. I have been involved in community related activities for over 25 years and look forward to continuing that in the 19thW. In the wedge, I organized my n'hood org called the Hickory Nuts, with a handful of neighbors and was its first President. Till recently, I was an active member of the Civilian Review Board (police-community complaints) for 20 years. I am a freelance grantwriter, which is how I make my living. It is work that I love, as I get to learn about and work with all kinds of nonprofits and people passionate about their missions. I am the new secretary of the SW PCIC, a position I held for 10 or so years with the Highland East Side PCIC. I look forward to meeting many of the residents in the 19th W and learning about the resources of the 19thW (restaurants, handymen, best stores to shop, etc.) and would appreciate hearing about such opportunities.

MacClurg, the 19th of most months, Michael Warren Thomas and the 19th ward "foodies" eat at a different local restaurant. Occasionally, they do potlucks. I think the Association usually has the list of upcoming outings.

Well, we've been here since 1982! I guess you know that since I believe you came to the housewarming party, which I think I did in 1983 on my 35th birthday. This social network seems to revolve a lot around feral cats. That's actually how I learned about it. Robin, from my dance class, is a cat woman.

HI I didn't know you lived in the 19th ward. How have you been doing? I have not done too much at the JCC, are you still ushering? I am house managing a few shows.

Her name is Kristin and maybe you had a typo. But I doubt she will have any problem with it, as it is all a matter of public record. Thank you very much, we would all like to be able to see what people have discussed or mentioned at these meetings. You could also post on the 19th Ward Yahoo group.

Thank you so much.
Mark

MacClurg,

With the posting on gang activity (news from our RPD CPO,) there have been positive responses as well as a request for a summary from PCIC meetings. Obviously all can't make these meetings due to conflicts, but there is interest. Would it be possible for you to post a summary on this blog? Everyone would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Mark
